Built on transparency

Your exam preparation deserves honesty. This page explains exactly how ScoreRoute works, what our AI can and cannot do, and how your data is protected — in plain language.

How ScoreRoute works

You complete a practice exercise — writing, speaking, reading or listening — and submit it. Our AI examiner evaluates your work against criteria aligned with the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB/NCLC), the same competency framework used to interpret TEF Canada and TCF Canada results.

Within seconds you receive an estimated CLB band, specific strengths, concrete weaknesses, and rewritten examples showing how to lift your register. Every attempt is stored so your dashboard can show how you are trending toward your target.

How the AI estimates your performance

Each submission is analysed across the dimensions real examiners care about: task completion, coherence and organisation, vocabulary range and precision, grammatical accuracy, and register. The AI applies rubrics we built from publicly documented CLB descriptors and published TEF/TCF band descriptions.

The same criteria are applied to every submission, every time. Unlike a rushed human review, the AI never gets tired, never skims, and treats your tenth attempt with the same rigour as your first.

An informed estimate — not an official score

ScoreRoute predictions are practice estimates based on public scoring frameworks and original evaluation models. Only authorized test centres can deliver official TEF Canada or TCF Canada results. Real exam conditions — time pressure, examiner interaction, test-day nerves — can move your result in either direction. Use ScoreRoute to measure progress and readiness, not as a guarantee.

What our AI can and cannot do

What it can do
  • Evaluate your French against CLB-aligned criteria in seconds
  • Identify recurring grammar, vocabulary and structure issues
  • Suggest concrete, prioritised improvements after every attempt
  • Rewrite weak sentences to show you a higher register
  • Track score trends across all four modules over time
  • Apply the same rigorous criteria consistently, 24/7
What it cannot do
  • Issue official scores, certificates or attestations
  • Guarantee the result you will obtain on exam day
  • Replace a certified examiner's final judgment
  • Access real, confidential exam questions or scoring grids
  • Evaluate factors like exam-day stress or technical conditions
  • Make immigration decisions — only IRCC assesses applications
